Product Overview

The Rail-Mounted Gantry Crane runs on a pair of fixed rails embedded in the yard, offering the highest positioning precision and load capacity among gantry crane types. RMGs are the standard choice for high-throughput container terminals, intermodal rail yards, and heavy bulk-handling operations where repeatable, automated positioning is more valuable than the lane-changing flexibility of a rubber-tyred design.

Structure Composition

  • Main Girder: Heavy box-type double girder structure, sized for high duty-cycle, often automated operation.
  • Legs: Rigid A-frame or portal legs mounted on multi-wheel bogies running on the fixed rail.
  • Runway: Ground-embedded rail with precisely surveyed gauge and elevation, since RMGs depend on runway accuracy for automated positioning.
  • Trolley/Spreader: Container spreader (fixed or telescopic) or hook/grab for bulk handling.
  • Control System: Cab-operated, remote-operated, or fully automated (ARMG) with position sensors and anti-sway control.

  • Intermodal rail yards for container transfer between rail cars and trucks
  • Bulk material handling yards (coal, ore, aggregates) requiring high-capacity, repeatable operation
