The MG Type Double Girder Gantry Crane is a heavy-duty lifting solution engineered for outdoor and semi-outdoor material handling, such as open storage yards, railway freight stations, port terminals, and container depots. Built around a robust A-frame or U-frame box-type structure, this crane is designed for large spans, high lifting capacities, and frequent, continuous-duty operation.
Structure Composition
The MG double girder gantry crane consists of the following main components:
- Main Girders: Two parallel box-type steel girders form the bridge structure, providing high bending and torsional stiffness for heavy loads and long spans.
- Legs: Rigid steel legs (A-shaped or U-shaped) connect the main girders to the end trucks. A-shaped legs are more economical; U-shaped legs allow the trolley to travel the full width, including outside the rail line, and are typically used where cantilever handling is required.
- End Trucks (End Carriages): Carry the wheel assemblies that run on the ground-level rails, transferring the full crane and load weight to the runway.
- Trolley / Crab: Runs on rails along the top of the main girders, carrying the hoisting mechanism (hook, grab, magnet, or spreader depending on application).
- Long Travel Mechanism: Drives the whole gantry structure along the rails.
- Cab or Ground Control: Operator cab (with adjustable seat, insulated flooring, and optional air conditioning), or pendant/remote control for ground operation.
- Electrical System: Cable reel or conductor rail power supply, PLC-based control, and full electrical protection.
